Google Suggest

As another fun tool for Authors to use is the new “GOOGLE SUGGEST” beta.

Give it a whirl:

I thought it was cool. :)

First 3 Words

Dear Authors:

If you want to get an exponential traffic explosion from your articles, the first 3 words of your TITLE determine the amount of traffic that will be sent to your article.

This is now an absolute. Call it Knight’s Law of Article Marketing 101 or what have you, but pleeeeasssee: Use some smarts when it comes to titling your article.

I recommend…

Larry Chase

When you get a chance, go check out my friend Larry Chase’s website:

He is a fellow John Wiley & Son’s published author and recently told his audience to check out EzineArticles… so I wanted to return the favor.

Larry’s coming up or recently had his 10 year anniversary for publishing the WDFM newsletter:

Success happens when our authors think we are generating personal emails to them, when in reality we have increased the granularity of our automated personalized emails.

I’m referring to the emails that are generated when authors use our article marketing system to send in or modify existing articles.

This way, we can share the love (via email communication) with more authors in less time with less labor expense. :-)

Seed Articles

To the publishers that would violate our TOS:

Just wanted you to know that we have been planting seed articles that will help us track who is violating our terms of service and copyright.

Please be kind and follow the TOS:

Noticed heavy spidering from a new site called “BECOME.COM” last night…

And then noticed that they were mentioned in a new article I just approved into the directory (See #3:)…&id=10513

Anyone know when will go live?

Article Directory Prayer

Remind me to be thankful for the tens of thousands of visitors that come to our site daily.

Help me to never take for granted the thousands of authors who send in their top quality articles by the hundreds every day.

Bless me with patience when editing articles by authors that have English as a second language. To the people of the Middle East: I forgive you for not putting a space after every period in your articles (even though we won’t publish them if they are sent in that way).

Please help others to forgive me when I make grammatical mistakes in this blog or my articles and newsletter.

Guide me to be “kind” when replying to the avalanche of personal emails that need replies every day from authors demanding help…even when I’m overloaded.

Guide our editors to have patience with me as I’m not the worlds greatest trainer or communicator.

Lastly, I pray for the team behind this site to keep it functional, operational and speedy 24 x 7… and for the authors who have to deal with our beta testing new functionality every week (to have patience).

Platinum Level

Well, an update:

Our new Basic or Platinum Membership has helped us sort the quality articles from the “not so quality”… and the system appears to be working.

Platinum authors are the ones with the Yellow star next to their name.

Sometime in February…

Funny Thing

So this guy calls us up and leaves a voice mail about buying… because it’s been down for the past 3 days and he thought we might be for sale.

At first, I couldn’t figure out what the heck he was talking about because our 3rd party monitoring service (Keynote’s RedAlert) indicated that we have had perfect uptime for the past month.

Then I realized…

…Thought you might enjoy the humor in this post today. :-)

If you’re an author or editor, please give at least a “preview” or “once over” before submitting your articles to us. We’re about to raise our standards to start rejecting articles that are poor spelling wise…as we just don’t have the time to fix every mistake.
