Expert Author Showcase: Robert William Locke

Meet EzineArticles’ Expert Author Robert William Locke in Today’s Author Showcase

With an innate talent for writing, health enthusiast and Expert Author Robert William Locke has an insatiable appetite for information which is translated into his articles for his readers.

Motivated by the unseen reader searching the Internet for information, Robert knows the value of determination is the key to being successful. With a stunning sea view near Gaeta, Italy, Robert rewards his article writing efforts simply: an Italian espresso coffee, lunch, a walk on the beach, or a swim in the sea. These rewards help Robert stay inspired and on task.

Feeling the adrenaline to beat the clock, Robert’s secret to his articles is concentrated on one fact: “I am writing for somebody who is searching on the Internet for some specific information. What a challenge in this time starved generation!”

To meet this challenge and address his audience’s needs, Robert focuses on writing content with these keys: “keep their interest, give information, and write fluently, engagingly.” The second challenge, Robert admits, is “in providing a proper layout, short paragraphs with headings and bullet points. If they can get to the end of the article before their cell phone rings or their child starts screaming, I have achieved something. If they click on the link, I really have succeeded in getting their attention.”

Robert’s Advice For Expert Authors

After learning the value of persistence, Robert realized leveraging his expertise and his credibility by concentrating his efforts in areas relevant to his expertise delivered results: “I became something of an expert in these fields and writing came much easier too. My production rates shot up.”

Robert’s advice? “Don’t flit! Concentrate on one niche or topic area which you are really interested in. I remember when I started out, I had written 87 articles. I blithely thought that was more than enough and they were on a host of different topics! Lack of success soon forced me to change my focus and it all started to fall into place.”

Key Tips From Robert

  • Stay Positive: “Don’t let setbacks get you down. They are minor and when compared to your overall goals they become insignificant.”
  • Persevere: “Be prepared for ups and downs… Remember that we are in for the long haul. Nobody has success overnight.”
  • Stay Up-to-Date: “That means reading a wide variety of sources from newspapers, books and journals… [Sign-up] for Google alerts and newsletters. These really help to keep me up to-date.”
  • Practice: Learn new methods by researching and testing “new techniques on the craft of article writing” through forums, etc. “Getting feedback on my articles was essential. Sharing and learning from others has been invaluable.”

Robert’s perseverance has paid off. After initially joining EzineArticles in 2006, Robert has published over 1,000 articles and continues to publish articles on children’s health, ADHD, parenting, mental health, anxiety and depression. Using his favorite EzineArticles tools (2 Minute Approval Tips video series and Monthly Performance Reports), Robert uses article writing because “this is easily the best and cheapest way of getting traffic to my websites.”

Robert,
I am very impressed by the quantity of articles you have written and how you consistently produce interesting articles. The tip that I respond most to is to “stay up to date” by reading newspapers, and different sources.
Thanks for all your good work.
