Gregg Gillies – Author Spotlight

Today’s author spotlight is EzineArticles expert author, Gregg Gillies.

Gregg Gillies is the author of “From Fat to Fit…Fast!” and “The Skinny Guy’s Guide to Building Mass Fast!” as well as the owner of

What makes his articles great is that he writes from personal experience & expertise… and his author photo proves it. I always like it when an authors photo matches their area of expertise instead of the same typical professional photo (not that there is anything wrong with that).

At my local gym they brought in a consultant full-time to help them drive membership sales. He works in a suit or high-end business dress all day, everyday. What a complete knob he is. If he wants to relate to fitness seekers, he should dress for the role… just like authors who have an opportunity to use an author photo that ENHANCES their credibility, such as how Gregg uses. Lance Winslow writes:

Excellent Gregg; it is wonderful to see you are taking your knowledge and skills and helping the Over Weight Problem around the World. Americans are certainly over weight and the rest of the World is also bulging like an expanding flooding river. Helping people help them selves and showing them how will bring energy back into their lives and more self-confidence too. It is all good; Way to go!

The picture’s good. It would even be better if it were in color with him on the beach or something.

The thing about pictures is a bad one can hurt you. What if you don’t look like Greg? What if you look like Pauly Shore on a bad hair day? What then?

Just trying to work out what would constitute a good picture of me now that I work full-time from home – me sat at my laptop or me lazing by the beach ….?! Will have to ponder some more before I decide – my current photo definitely needs replacing.

One more author photo tip:

I recommend uploading a new photo that at a minimum meets the pixel size requirements. I asked our tech team why your photo didn’t look right and they came back with the fact that we only resize photos if they are too large, but we don’t enlarge them if they are too small.

For EzineArticles, the target photo size is 160×200 pixels.

Lastly, if you’re selling ‘the lifestyle’, then do the beach photo or try one with a notebook PC sitting on a dock overlooking the water. :-)
