25,000 Articles

Thanks For Sending In Your Best Original Articles!

If someone told me that on August 5th, 2004 when we tore down this entire site to rebuild it from scratch…that we’d be able to help over 5,000 authors to promote over 25,000 of their articles that are listed with our site before our first year was up, I’m not sure I’d have believed ’em.

First, a very big public thank you to the 5000+ authors who have sent in their best articles! Muchas Gracias!

Now I sit here contemplating how we can help 15,000 more authors before Summer to send in 75,000 articles.

Truth of the matter is that it’s not a 1:4 ratio, meaning we have about 85% of the 5000 authors have only sent in 1 article. Reminds me a lot of how businesses should find a way to do more business with their existing clients rather than always trying to find new ones to serve.

Do you have any suggestions for how we could encourage the 80%+ of authors who register with us but only send in one article?

Perhaps write an article and e-mail it to Ezine Article members telling them the low statistical probability of getting significant positive results from just one article submission and acceptance.

Also show them how your authors are more successful in building click-throughs to their sites as they increase the number of articles they submit and have accepted.

In other words write something that demonstrates how success increases directly with the submission and acceptance of lots of articles.

Remind them again, as you have previously, that instead of writing large articles, authors should break them down into keyword-focused smaller articles.

Tell them why, even with 25,000 articles in your bank that it is not “competition” to any large degree when you consider that there are billions of pages out there on the web.

Authors need massive action (at least as a goal) to achieve the click-through traffic they want through the article-method.

Hey Chris,

Show them stats, stats on how important it is to send more article each month. Ask your coders to code for you automated emailers to authors with less than a number of articles sent.

And you could even add some few more success stories from the ones submitting regularly…

Oh, what am I talking… Hey don’t listen to me because that was I’m doing in my directory, automated follow-ups :D

Have a contest. Perhaps have a Sponsor? Like Martha Stewart Magazine which will publish the best article on: “A Subject”. Get many print magazines and Ezines to Sponsor “A Topic” and promise to print the best one? This will help fill up “Categories” and “Sub Cats”.

It appears authors love to see their work in print or in “ones” and “Zeroes”. So promise them if they make the grade they will get ink or “digital” recognition. Think of all the boating magazines, family, science, self help, etc. magazines out there. Sponsor Contests, eventually it will get big and you will have sponsors for every category. You like my idea? Yes? No, then let’s here yours? Think about it.
