EzineArticles expert author Bill Nadraszky of Calgary Alberta () wrote a blog entry that caught my attention (What I learned after I got 100,000 views on ezinearticles)

Here’s are some excerpts:

Headlines count for almost everything - ….On the articles as above where I actually use good keywords in the title I would get lots of traffic and still do get lots of traffic for those articles.

Clickthroughs have everything to do with the bio box - In the early days I would just say “Bill is passionate about fitness, to learn more visit his fitness blog at XXXXX” I got about a 1% bio box clickthrough on that but now the last paragraph of my article is actually in the bio box with a distinct call to action and the clickthroughs are around 15-20%. What a massive difference eh?

I struggled briefly whether to share Bill’s blog post with you today for many reasons, including the fact that I find it odd that he will share his wife and children’s name on his website, but finding his last name doesn’t exist (as if he wants to remain anonymous with his own website audience). Also, some of his articles in the blog encourages folks to up the keyword density of their articles (something we’re cracking down on as many unhappy-with-us SEO types are very well aware of), and he encourages public domain content as source material for articles (VERY BAD idea in our books).

So, despite the above, Bill has 165 articles listed with EzineArticles and his tips about the importance of a smart article TITLE are right on. In fact, I’d submit to you that you should forget about keyword density in the article body all together and just get the article title 40% keyword intelligent.

If you’ve been reading this blog, you know I’m into fitness things (racquetball, run, bike, swim, soccer, etc) and along comes SharpBrains CEO & EzineArticles Expert Author Alvaro Fernandez… introducing his unique “brain fitness” articles.

Here’s what caught our attention to Alvaro Fernandez:

1) He produced a beautiful page on his website to showcase his EzineArticles (makes it easy for his audience to find his expertise) and he even highlighted his unique EzineArticles Expert Author RSS feed. Nice!

2) He promoted his unique EzineArticles via a custom press release that achieved incredible distribution including Forbes!

The only improvement suggestion I gave Alvaro is to expand his article title length by 35-40%; but his article word count (575-800) is spot on, Resource Box is easy to quickly understand, and he further expanded his credibility by having an author photo and extended author bio uploaded. Way to go. :)

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that professional speakers are almost always a perfect candidate to be an idea EzineArticles expert author. Motivational speaker & writer Gloria Thomas-Anderson is a great example of this.

What I liked about Gloria’s profile & articles:

Completed profile, including author photo & extended description/bio.

Gloria added her ISBN of her most recent works, Passion For Your Purpose: Discovering Peace, Direction and Balance in your life.

If you’ve followed this blog discussion, you know it’s hard to write a high quality authentic article under 500 words…but Gloria has mastered this.

If I was Gloria’s article writing/marketing coach: I’d recommend adding more vertical spaces between her numbered lists of items (within her articles); to be careful on article title character limits (and if you hit a limit, then change the title to fit the limit rather than cutting a word in half); to be careful on the vertical length of her resource box as it gives the appearance of a 50/50 ratio to content when a 15/85 ratio is an ideal target; and lastly, to be adding consistently to her article inventory each year.

This is the kind of author that our audience begs us for more. :)

EzineArticles expert author and fitness body builder Karen Sessions is today’s Author Spotlight.

Why? Because of 5 main factors:

1) Consistency - Karen started posting articles July of 2005 and has consistently added new quality original articles almost every month since.
2) Original content - You can tell that Karen is a real expert author and not a pseudo expert trying to sound like an expert.
3) Perfect word count length - Her articles are around 600-750 words each and are very easy to read & digest. Great use of sub-heads.
4) Conclusions - at the end of each of her articles help wrap up and summarize the lessons she offers in her articles and makes it easier to know what she just taught us as the reader.
5) Expert author photo - her photo reinforces her expertise - adds a lot of credibility to her words.

If I were coaching Karen, I’d recommend that she expand her article title length by 20-35% longer and her resource box talks about her expertise vs. what she can do for the reader once they visit her website (ie: Write your resource box so that it’s benefit oriented). Doing so would give her the results similar to adding 2 more reps once she has reached momentary muscle failure in each set. :) ie: A higher ROI.

Be Unreasonable -Book by Paul Lemberg

EzineArticles Expert Author & Chief Business Accelerator Paul Lemberg of Quantum Growth Consulting has a new book out called “Be Unreasonable -The Unconventional Way To Extraordinary Business Results.”

Why do I (and others like Jay Abraham, Jay Conrad Levinson, T. Harv Eker) like and highly recommend Paul’s book? Because I’ve known Paul personally for a few years now and enjoy watching his mind work to solve business growth problems in unconventional ways. He reminds me of a modern day Thomas J. Leonard (deceased, coach industry leader) wrapped up with Jay Abraham’s marketing thoughts and strategic coach Dan Sullivan’s time management philosophies.

And the truth leaks out: Paul interviewed me for the book and you can read his case study of how I analyze opportunity on pages 133-135.

Here’s an excerpt from the case study interview Paul did with me:

One way to ensure client loyalty is to obsessively create value for them. While this should seem obvious, most business owners don’t act like it. (Most unreasonable tactics seem so obvious as to be almost not worth mentioning, except that few people are using them.) Many entrepreneurs realize that they need to create value for their clients, but they do it in measured amounts. They create value relative to what they are being paid, and they feel they should do just that much and no more… (side note: this is insane and can destroy your potential growth rate.)

To get to know Paul further, this article of his is interesting: Unreasonable Requests

Lemberg goes on in detail to describe how to: Be Uncompromising by sticking to your goals no matter what; Be Demanding by expecting more, not less from everybody; Be Critical by changing old systems that just don’t work; Be Outrageous by creating your own business brain trust; and Be Prepared for real success on your terms. Highly recommended :-)

In addition, Bonnie has uploaded a professional author photo and uploaded her author bio…further enhancing her credibility as a true expert.

Nice job Bonnie! :-)

Lay sent us this testimonial yesterday:

“Ezine[Articles], where my personal improvement does not need an instructor” Submitting articles to Ezines has provided me great opportunities to express my concerneds, interests about the world, as well as to practice my written knowledge. To be precise, my article submission to Ezine[Articles] has bettered my Resume. Lastly, since Cambodia is not acceptably known by other countries, Ezine[Articles] has provided me the opportunities to make this country resurgent, as well as promoting what we have here in Cambodia, that the world never knows.

Michele Dortch - Author Spotlight

Here’s a great example of an ideal EzineArticles expert author: Michele Dortch.

Her 21 article submissions span from 2005, 2006 and this year…and that shows a consistency over time (something that is as important as quality and quantity when it comes to article writing & marketing). In addition, Michele has uploaded her author bio and an excellent author photo that appears to be professionally produced.

As for the content of her articles, Michele does a great job of using minimal bold tags, numbered lists and bullets — and this makes her articles very easy to read.

Lastly, unlike some authors who are too efficient at this craft (think about those who write for traffic attraction sake alone), Micheles articles are clearly original content with an intent to deliver unique value in an easy to read format that makes you want to learn more about what she has to offer. Nice job Michele!

EzineArticles expert author, Diana Chaloux’s professional image gallery shows off her expertise in the fitness industry as a certified trainer and fitness DVD producer. This is exactly how we had hoped the professional image gallery feature would be used. Nice job Diana!
