So we opened up the directory again to (1) free article submission and the rest would be fee-based. It only took 36 hours before multiple authors would abuse our system by joining with multiple free accounts.
Know that we will be filtering out silently authors who create multiple accounts or are the “work at home get-rich type scammers.” If you operate above-the-board, you should have no problems with us.
The pseudo-authors know who they are and I don’t think they are surprised to be silently removed.
Challenge: Many dozens of authors thought our pricing strategy of $37-$50 per article submission was a good price range.
Problem: While we like helping many dozens of clients per month, we want to help thousands of new clients per month. :)
Solution: Our new membership system is designed to do 2 things:
Our heads are pounding. We’re implementing a brand new front-end to our service. Think of it as a hybrid between the free article submission sites and the fee-based directories. As of today, you can now submit 1 article for free and then you’ll be able to subscribe to one of our monthly packages that will hopefully launch by Tuesday.
I was logging into our web server as the traffic counter was broke from going around and around so many times in a day (humor folks ;-).
Discovered that EzineArticles.com is on track for a 100,000 unique monthly visitors this month and more than 1 million unique visitors annually!
I am very honored and humbled by how many authors and publishers are finding value from this project. Thanks! :-)
We received 23 testimonials over the past week from our call for testimonials. I had no idea of what value our site really provided others until I read the testimonials. I thought I knew, but I was wrong. Here is what I learned:
I’ve had a request from someone who wanted to reprint some articles from our directory into Microsoft PowerPoint.
I denied the request but want to know what you think:
Should we allow the articles in the EzineArticles.com directory to be reprinted in PowerPoint?
Today marks the death of our WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) submission interface editor tool.
Primary challenge is that the greater majority of authors are not interested in learning how to use a basic TEXT editor and they want to be able to post their articles from a copy-and-paste from Microsoft Word.
If you’re an expert author in our directory and have received value from being listed with us — I’d appreciate hearing from you as to the kind of service you’ve received from us or what kind of success you’ve had:
Thanks in advance!
Yes or No question: Should article directories have autoresponders setup for each article or not?
What do you think?
Here’s what we’ve been working on for the past month:
A new membership system that will allow our 700+ authors to login and edit, add, or remove articles.
Will be looking forward to your feedback or suggestions as to how we can improve the new system that you’ll receive an email notification about this week. :-)
