How to Promote Your Content

7 Methods to Amplify Your Signal

Content marketing is not a “set it and forget it” strategy. It’s about the 4 Ps:

  • Plan – Proper planning prevents poor performance.
  • Place – Content needs to be placed where it will get the most exposure.
  • Produce – Brainstorm, create/write, revise, proofread, and publish high-quality content.
  • Promote – Get the word out!

Many Expert Authors forget about that last P (Promote) of content marketing. Whether you’re publishing on, posting on social media, or generating posts for your blog, you need to give your content that extra boost in order to maximize the return you’ll get from the time you invested.

Amplify your brand signal to get more out of your efforts with these tips!

7 Content-Promotion Methods

1. Social Media

For new articles, videos, ebooks, and more, post the link to your social media accounts with a juicy snippet of the content. Use hashtags to help your audience find you, but don’t overdo it or it will look like keyword stuffing. Ensure your approach is entirely reader-benefit oriented to your target market rather than being overtly promotional. These are social platforms, so be social! We’ve recommended it before, but it merits a repeat: find out where your audience is on the major social media platforms so you don’t end up wasting your time posting to an empty room. The top social media platforms are:

2. Google Authorship

Verified Google Authorship that links and tags to your content increases transparency with your readers. This transparency is rewarded by placing your author photo in search results when the post ranks, increasing your click through rate tenfold. [Learn more]

3. Author Alert

Add an Author Alert Signup Box to your website. The customizable Author Alert Signup Box allows visitors to sign up directly on your website to receive an email alerting them when a new article of yours is published on [Learn more]

4. The EzineArticles Widget

Add the EzineArticles Widget to your blog or website to display a list of your latest published articles from Not only does this widget increase your exposure, it shows your website visitors that you consistently deliver quality information, which in turn leverages your credibility as a leading authority. [Add a Widget]

5. Email

If you’ve been accumulating a list of email subscribers (because you do have an opt-in email signup box on your website, right?), then you can create a monthly or quarterly recap email of recently published articles, videos, and more. Include a short tantalizing summary of what the piece of content is about and then provide a link.

6. Email Newsletters

Similar to an email recap, add a featured article or video to your ezine or email newsletter. Write a short, intriguing summary to provide a preview of the content and then link to it.

7. Blog

And once again, you can also recap content monthly or quarterly on your blog! Additionally, link to relevant articles, videos, and other content within your blog posts to increase reader engagement. Just as you link to your website from your articles, linking from your website to your relevant articles can further benefit your content promotion strategy.

Give your content marketing strategy a boost using these 7 methods and in return you’ll amplify your authority signal. Do you use any of the above methods? Did we miss a great strategy that you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments section below – we’d love to hear from you!

Do the codes work in all blogs or themes?

i prefer to promote my articles on Google Plus. I have a good number of followers.

Remember to write a summary of what your are sharing in your own words, don’t just click and share.

Giving a summary creates interest among the followers and they eventually are tempted to click and read the entire article instead of just ignoring or browsing it.
