I agree a photo (even if your not very good looking) adds credibility, and people can see the the person that wrote the article is real, and if they like the article, they will look out for new ones from you.

I can confirm that I definitely found an increased click through rate to my author profile when I recently added a photo. For the small effort of doing it is definitely worth the trouble!

A photo makes all the difference- providing the wretched thing will consent to being downloaded!

Readers get a sense of the author, rather than just his/her content.

Interesting, this photo thing. Does that mean that when someone uses your article for his website, they get your photo along with the article or is that just in EzineArticles when people search for materials-articles they need for their use?

Zeljko –

Your author photo is not included as part of the article versions designed for use by ezine publishers. However, a link back to your Expert Author bio is included with the article, so a reader can simply click on that link in order to see your picture.

Thanks for the advice, Chris. Articles that I read with a picture do tend to make me feel a little more comfortable with the writer and add a level of familiarity that I wouldn’t have without the pic.

I agree with Wolfgang that a photo adds credibility to us, as long as it isn’t stolen and reproduced.

Interesting, didn’t realize that I could use drawings or renderings. I like to brand myself using cartoons as they’re more colorful and stand out a bit more, thanks!

Photos do add credibility. I think it helps the reader identify with the author if the author can be seen. With that said I’m now going to add a picture of myself to my EzineArticles account!
