More than 50 Article Ideas in 2 Minutes

Discover the power of the EzineArticles Blog for producing TONS of article ideas.

I have a confession to make. I now know what it feels like to be ambushed by the camera-toting paparazzi … and I kind of like it.

Recently, the Marketing and Communications team was working on ideas for a brief video to help demonstrate how to use the EzineArticles Blog in generating new article ideas. Unbeknownst to me, they came up with an idea that I would never have agreed to … they ambushed the boss.

My team knows that I spend long stretches of time in the Blog (I actually have a cot set up in the lower-left corner of page 17), so they figured they’d pounce on me and see if I could come up with at least 50 article ideas in only 2 minutes. At first I was a bit suspicious of a camera rolling into my work space, but I’m proud to say that I rose to the challenge admirably. Here’s the result:

Downloadable Versions:
WMV Format     MOV Format     MV4 Format     MP3 Format

In case you didn’t catch all the resources I went through, here they are again:

First, go to the EzineArticles Blog

  • Click on the “Article Templates” text link in the right navigation bar for 17+ article ideas
  • Type “repurpose” in the search field under Chris Knight’s picture in the right navigation bar and scroll down to the blog post with the feather duster picture for 5+ article ideas
  • Type “unstuck” in the search field on the right and scroll down to the blog post with the light bulb for 10 article ideas
  • Go to Part 2 of that series for another 10 article ideas
  • Search for “tweets to retweet” and scroll down to any of the Twitter posts (look for the bluebird graphic) you see – they should yield at least 3-4 ideas per post, so that’s another 30+ article ideas

GRAND TOTAL = 72+ Article Ideas in Only 2 Minutes!

Now I admit, I pretty much know our Blog like the back of my hand. But if I can find 72 article ideas in only 2 minutes, imagine how many you could find if you invested an hour or two surfing the EzineArticles Blog! And just think of all the other great information and nuggets of wisdom you’d stumble across in your search!

Bottom Line: Our Blog is an amazing repository of article writing and marketing knowledge. So go use it! Then come back here and leave a comment to tell us what you found.

This is fantastic! Lots of fun and so many ideas. We should all be able to write many new articles after being motivated by this video. Thanks to Marc and Jason for reminding us about the blog.

I keep a file on my computer and a file folder filled with article ideas that, I have retrieved from EzineArticles. It goes right into my laptop carry case, when I’m on long trips.

And when I’ve had enough computer…I pull out my file folder and go to work.

This is a fun blog post!

No argument from me! :)

Just don’t let them hear you say that – they’re hard enough to keep in line the way it is.

Thanks for the great tips. Goes without saying that if your livelihood depends on your writing, then you have no choice but to keep coming with ideas on what to write about and how.

Hey Marc did you just hit Jason with a Taser? Did you get that on camera?

Thanks for the article ideas!

Gerry, I don’t wish to help spread rumors, but I too heard about this taser incident. Apparently, the energy flow at EzineArticles is off the charts! Which makes sense considering all the brilliant marketing, and article author assistance that goes on there.

Maybe some day we will learn more about this “Don’t Tase Me Bro!” incident – ha ha ha.

Comment provided March 10, 2010 at 11:45 PM

Gerry and Lance,

I should know better than to keep secrets from our authors!

Despite my best efforts to make that gun appear to be a Nerf dart gun, the truth is that I did actually tase Jason for interrupting me while I was working.

I’ve found tasing to be a good motivational tool for my team – especially the creative folks who would otherwise be scheming ways to rattle their boss.

In the spirit of full and open disclosure, here is the unedited audio of that particular motivational incident:

Obviously, I’m JUST KIDDING … I really wouldn’t tase a member of my team no matter what they did. I’d be too afraid that the electricity would mess with their creative talents! :)

I’m thinking I need to open some windows or something to give our marketing team some fresh air. :-) Fear not, Summer is coming soon.

ps: We have a strict “No Tasing” policy here at It says so in our member worklife manual. j/k

This is brilliant! I have just gone through it and come up with 63 article ideas, which I think I can also use the same list to write blogs.

If you are starting out writing articles, this is the way to go, It has taken many months to come up with 17. Now I have to start writing them.

Thanks so much!

Great post. I am new to this site and this helped me understand my way around a little more.

I keep a list with me at all times and as ideas pop into my head i get them down before they are lost forever.

Hi Jason, hi Marc,

great video! The template I definitely like most is the 7 creates 8…

It’s the easiest way to come up with content for a week or a month, depending on how busy you want to get.

I never thought of the retweet idea, so I’m gonna try that one right now!

Thanks for the tips,
