Twitter Action RequiredRate This Post:
Don’t miss out on a single tweet of your newest articles – update your account today!
Twitter recently made a change that required EzineArticles to undertake a 3-week long reprogramming project to modify the way we manage our members’ Twitter credentials. Now that the project is complete, we’re asking all members to log into their EzineArticles Profile Manager and re-approve their Twitter account in the next 24-48 hours. Beginning August 18th, we will no longer send new article Twitter Update alerts for members who have not authorized their Twitter Account using the new OAuthentication method, otherwise known as “OAuth”. To Update Your Account:
You will then be brought back to the EzineArticles Author’s Area where you can automatically send a tweet informing followers you’ve set up your EzineArticles account to notify them of your new articles. You may revoke this authorization at any time by visiting your Twitter Settings page or by simply clicking on the “Revoke Twitter Access” button in the EzineArticles Author’s Area. As an added bonus, only members who update their Twitter Credentials will be included in our Twitter/EzineArticles directory of experts: http://Twitter.EzineArticles.com/ Both EzineArticles and Twitter take your privacy very seriously. Thanks for putting your trust in us. We look forward to tweeting the good news about your high-quality, original articles. Log in and update your account now… before you forget. Then come back here and leave a comment to let us know how it went.

Great! Thanks for the notification. Easy and simple to take care of. I knew that with the recent denial of service Twitter was reassessing all of the applications that allowed automatic updates to the site. It also reminded me that I haven’t posted an article in a while! Thanks again! [Reply] Comment provided August 13, 2009 at 10:29 AM

This is a great service for we Twitters (I’m HopefulMJ there). I’m delighted to be part of the eZine team with expert status and platinum membership. Reaching a goal with eZine Articles feels good and is good. As Rocky suggested, “Go for it”! Or was it Chris Knight who said that? :) [Reply] Comment provided August 13, 2009 at 12:51 PM

Thanks for this notification. I did this yesterday ( August 12, 2009 ) when I received the first email but I don’t believe there was any mention of this blog post at that time. I took care of it at that time and found it to be as very easy process. Now I need to submit some more articles to be tweeted. [Reply] Comment provided August 13, 2009 at 2:26 PM

Wendy, For clarification: Your PROFILE inclusion of your Twitter account is different than authorizing EzineArticles to tweet on your behalf when you have new articles published here. What I recommend: Do both. Include your Twitter profile ID in your social media list of sites you belong to *AND* authorize us to tweet on your behalf. The nice thing about having both of these is that you can choose to promote your Twitter profile without having us tweet for you (a small minority of members prefer to tweet their new articles themselves). To each their own. :) Judy, We’re also a FaceBook API Development house… and we’re already kicking around mock ups internally. In the interim, the fastest way to get your new EzineArticles article tweets to FaceBook is to setup the FaceBook/Twitter app. Eddie, There was no blog post yesterday because we gave our existing Twitter members first dibs on getting this done before the rest of the market knew about it. We always like to reward first movers with insider info. [Reply] Comment provided August 13, 2009 at 7:52 PM

Dwayne, A profile pic or avatar is Twitters version of your author photo. We only tweet new articles published with twitter members who have their profile pic added. Reason: It looks incomplete or like what a spammer would do if you don’t have a profile pic or avatar uploaded to your Twitter profile. [Reply] Comment provided August 27, 2009 at 10:22 AM

We’re doing one more segmented mailing today to encourage the last 8000 of our members who haven’t updated their Twitter credentials yet to do so within the next 48 hours. Twitter hasn’t cut off our old members who authenticated prior to the new system, but we also don’t know which day they will be shutting down that legacy system. If you’ve already updated your account to the new official EzineArticles Twitter app, you’re done and good to go. Thanks! [Reply] Comment provided September 23, 2009 at 2:37 PM
