The same great video in a much smaller package!

Back in April we released a video entitled, How to Write the Perfect Press Release. Most members agreed that the video was helpful and informative… but a bit too long.

So we took it back to the cutting room and trimmed the original 7+ minute video down to a leaner, trimmer 2 minute version which was intended for use on our sister site http://PressExposure.com exclusively.

After a little reflection, we realized it only made sense to share this sweetened, condensed version with our EzineArticles members as well. So here it is:

Downloadable Versions:
WMV Format     MOV Format     MV4 Format     MP3 Format
If you’re more of a reader than a viewer, here’s the video in a nutshell:

  • Ask yourself these (4) questions:
    1. What’s your key message? - What are you really trying to tell people?
    2. Who’s your target audience? – Who do you want to tell your message to?
    3. What does the target audience gain from your product or service? - What are the potential benefits or rewards?
    4. What’s your objective? - Is it to increase sales? Enhance the company’s reputation? Or do you just want a local morale booster?
  • Take the answers to these questions and make them benefit-oriented and news-worthy. Don’t advertise – advertising is NOT news!
  • Understand and follow the traditional press release formats.
  • Write your release using the “Inverted Pyramid Style” for key information and remember to address the (5) W’s and the H.
    1. Who?
    2. What?
    3. When?
    4. Where?
    5. Why?
    6. How?
  • Submit your release to Press Exposure.com. Members can do this from within the Author’s Area:
    1. Click on the Author Tools drop-down menu
    2. Click on Press Release Submission
    3. Fill out and submit the form

By following a few simple steps and using a little creativity, you can write THE perfect press releases.

Since we’re always trying to improve the way we do things, please leave a comment to let us know which version you preferred – original long or new condensed?

I believe most EzineArticles customers don’t know about your sister site for press release submission. You should promote it more!

Most people don’t know how to write a press release correctly though. It is quite different to article writing.

Novianti,

Major difference is that EzineArticles doesn’t accept press releases nor do we allow members to SELL in the article body.

I’m seeing the shortern version but even though I like this better I’m still having a hard time writing news releases. I enjoy writing articles, I just need to get a lot faster at it.
Thanks uvon

Thanks for the good oil!

I am in planning stages for major press releases in Sydney, Australia for our YourLawnAndGarden.com business. So your PressExposure facility will be useful.

Keep up the good work!
