Widgets Revisited

This powerful EzineArticles tool deserves a second look!

Back in March we unveiled this video to help explain how to install an EzineArticles widget, like Christopher’s to the right, on your website or blog. Since then these widgets have been installed by thousands of Expert Authors to help them drive traffic FROM there site TO their articles.

If you haven’t installed one yet, invest the time now. Here are (3) good reasons:

  1. Having an EzineArticles widget on your website is one of the best ways for clients, prospects and other visitors to see a live listing of your current articles and be made aware of your EzineArticles Expert Author status.

  2. With one click, visitors will be reading your articles and uncovering the added value you bring to your niche market and to them – what an excellent way to enhance your credibility and the credibility of your company!
  3. Adding the widget to your website or BLOG is simple and you can customize the theme to suit your site. Plus, you can choose to have it list any EzineArticles Expert Author, not just you.

Feel free to dive right in – the directions are below. Or spend a few minutes watching this “How-To” video first to learn more.

Our blog software was accidentally upgraded late Friday afternoon causing this blog entry to be wiped out. Sorry to those who posted a comment. This is a pretty rare event for us and we’re investigating what went wrong to prevent it in the future.

Feel free to re-post your comment. Thanks!

The widgets are great. They can be placed with ease along the nav bar and blend in perfectly. I’d suggest webmasters experiment using them to showcase their articles on EzineArticles.com.

Marc, I left a comment last week on this topic of Widgets.

I applaud your efforts especially about Widgets.

However, my concern with applying a Widget to my websites (especially http://www.LawnGreen.com.au ) is the website’s “Stickiness” is reduced. That is, with the Lawn Green website we have designed it in such a way that visitors cannot click through to another web site or web page unless they go all the way to the bottom of the web page where our Site Map etc are (quietly) displayed.

What are your thoughts?

PS I am not sure I have explained myself clearly, but anyway!

If it doesn’t work for your goals and strategy, then don’t do it. :)

Everyone has different goals. Some care about using a widget such as this to show social proof of their expertise, add value to their visitors, etc.. and don’t care about “tightly controlling the exit click”.

Both strategies are right… It’s just like our site… Some members scale hard and write thousands of articles and some are perfectly happy writing 3-7 articles in totality for the rest of their life. Both are ok… because they serve the interests of the creator.
