Nice interview, Chris!

A little bit long, but I was listening to it while submitting 2 articles that I managed to finally write, after the first edition of the super long chapter 9 of my new ebook. I’m a little bit behind for the challenge, but I may write a few articles now, until my editor sends me chapter 10.

You really covered all the basic points about article writing and marketing, explaining very well how all the process works, especially how important the traffic really interested in what we have to offer is.

I think this was your best interview! You were very objective, and your voice was very clear.

Great interview. Did you know some pronounce ezine ad (ezein) instead of ezeen?. I’m pretty sure ezine is pronounced (ezeen) instead of (ezein). Comments?

It’s pronounced “EzzzEEEEEEn” but you can pronounce it as “Ezzz EIN” as in MagaZINE. Either way works.

I’m a little bit out of topic! but this is a necessity.

Chris, I want to find an article because I want to see its traffic search terms. How can I find it automatically? I found it in Search my articles, but from there I cannot see the traffic search terms, only in the page Article Reports.

I found it there thanks to its date of publication.

Could you please put the information about the traffic search terms in the same page we use, when we use Search my articles?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Chris,

A general report from me. I keep working hard everyday to create a viable presence on the Internet and earn income for my own expertize.

-the little I was earning suddenly dried up with the recession

-now faced with what mediums to develop – articles – web pages – mailing lists – info products – membership sites – online teaching via conference calls – SEO sales pages for a popular product – a system you can measure the effects of what you do – in sales numbers – in views – in people joining your mailing lists – in work put into a particular channel –

Maybe good at this point in knowledge of what works a bit on the Internet

– I have proven myself in getting maybe 200,000 visitors and views in two years

– have not proven myself in making sufficient income for the work done – less than 100 a month now

– wonder if it is true that you only make good money for your work if you have generated 1,000,000 visitors and views to your sites a year

– wonder if no how-to articles work if you don’t find that million dollar views and visitors system that works for you that you run?

– still have not found the million views system and the income that should go with it

This is a great and intelligent forum where I have always been welcome like the intelligent others here.

But now I experiment with writing HubPages instead of EzineArticles to see if I get more visitors and visitors who pay for my info products

– maybe I don’t have the right info products for the web?

– downloadable one-time sales products like ebooks?

– membership sites where I guide and teach that members keep paying by the month but it takes weekly time to guide?

– now starting conference calls free using tokbox but the systems in this new area of free online conference video and audio calls is really new this year and has difficulties. We use hand signals to get people to stop talking and let someone else use their mic because if you don’t turn off your mic when not talking you get big echoes. You can still listen, however, with your mic off.

– we’ve just started but are getting people signing into tokbox to hear experts Susan Campbell and myself talk on relationships with viewer responses encouraged. Will this build into something and encourage viewers after a few months to join our membership circle on relationships?

MESSAGE: build a viable internet based product or service that works. And build the Internet based system that supports it and brings in an income stream for your efforts.

Is this successful? Not yet!

Great interview! You sure packed it with a lot of information. I learned some new things and was reminded of other info that was included in your email course.

It would have been helpful to have access to this interview as an Ezine newbie. You might want to make sure that your newbies are aware of this interview. And thanks for including notes. I like to print and file them so that I can review in the future when I’ve forgotten what the interview was about.

I am always listening to presentations by marketers. Thanks for the pdf notes instead. For me it is a great summary of what to do and not do with writing articles.

The only thing I take issue with is this: you say get a terrific product or angle to make your mark in the market – something like this.

Are you saying if you don’t have a great angle then don’t write articles?

I ask, also, how can any of us write great articles is we don’t have a great concept or angle that is original and hits the market well to excite it?

Chris, your quote from the pdf here: “offer a secret, a tip, a strategy that you’ve personally used in the situation
that has worked phenomenally well”

“phenomenally well?” Maybe only geniuses do this? Do you mean it every time for everybody? How does this issue really work?

So maybe 250 articles written doesn’t mean that much for a lot of people who have done this if they do not have a great angle to all their articles and also the product or service they are selling to support their efforts in writing an article?

Guess my first little report here is relevant.

I am not being critical to tear anything down but to try and be clear as to how article writing benefits one, if it does.

My first comment here wondered if one needed one million viewers, readers, visitors before one could have an impact that led to earning money for ones efforts.

Kaplan-Williams’ Internet law: don’t engage in any Internet project that will not earn you a million of something within two years – be it visitors, money, readers or viewers.

How many millions of something are you worth these days, Chris?

Article marketing should be one of various forms of web promotion that you are doing.

Writing articles will enable to you obtain the lower value links as well as targeted visitors to your website.

The real key is gaining links on high powerful websites as this will give you a major search engine boost.

Good luck and keep at it, hard work pays off in the end.

Hi Strephon, again!

I have just checked out your website, the homepage.

Where is the content?

Without content the search engines will not be able to match the site to its keywords.

All of your main keywords or key phrases should be appearing on the homepage, that is your shop window.

Also I would aim to add content to the site on a regular basis as this will help you to increase your overall backward links over the longer term.

G’day Chris,

Many, many thanks for the pdf synopsis, a great time saver and very much appreciated.

What I gained most from the content was the correct estimation of the amount of effort required to produce the result – continuous, high-volume trafic. I had no idea I should be aiming for 250 articles

Maybe because most of the other tips you covered very well in your series of email tips to new authors. This was also very well received at the time and was something no other article directory service did anything like or even a fraction of. It really did set you apart in a league of your own.

Hello Steve

Thanks for the business enhancement tip.

If you are referring to the latest: I was going for a clean home page without text to read but enticing to click the buttons and full of videos.

So, back to basics and put text on the home page also.

The search engines want text apparently and don’t see videos and info bags also.

With the videos and buttons will people skip the text and start punching buttons?

Maybe a short, short article like recommended for EzineArticles? Maybe big headlines and also bullet lists to make it easy for Internet readers?

Will work on it. To confirm what you said I put exact phrases into the search engine and came up with nothing, as if they had not come to the site yet.

So the Search Engines eat words still, and that says articles are needed as well as words on the home page.

Thanks Chris. I really needed the information. I’m so happy that you pointed out the 250 article minimum to really get the ball rolling.

I’m closing in on 100 articles and have been a little depressed that my results haven’t been as good as I hoped.

Now I feel re-engergized. Thanks for the boost.

Hi Strephon,

I have replied to the e-mail that you sent me and am happy to assist you in any way that I can.

Yes content is still king, as they say, which is why I continue to add content to my websites plus submitting it to EzineArticles, 962 articles published thus far with many more to come.

Best regards,

Please come back and let us know in 3-6 months how well HubPages performs for you.

I’ve seen countless competitor sites that offer all kinds of revenue sharing and payments to the moon and back … yet little exposure or traffic you can hang a conversion on.

[I’m not saying I know how HubPages will perform as I have no idea…which is why I’d like to learn from your experience.]
