New Article Status AssistRate This Post:
We’ve added something new to everyone’s account to help you know where your new article submissions are at during their journey through our review and quality control process: There are 5 steps each article goes through:
If you use your mouse to hover over the red boxes as they are filled in… you’ll find little pop up helper tips to remind you about the 5 steps above I just listed. Hopefully this new status update system will let you know where your article submissions are at in terms of review. Any questions?

Hmmm…well if you want my honest opinion, I have no interest in that feature. As long as my article goes up. Two features that would enhance the site for me would be critical evaluation of articles (yes, I know that’s asking alot but I can dream can’t I?) and most importantly more detailed tracking of where the articles or pieces of the articles end up. That’s really what I’d like to see. [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 10:31 AM

I haven’t had a problem with the timeliness of your reviewing, approving, and posting my articles… However, now that you have this new feature, it makes me think it’s going to take a long time to get an article approved and posted. Maybe the other addition needed to this feature would be to provide some time perspective. Perhaps add in a number of days scale to the “Status” bar overhead. Overall, you and everyone at ezinearticles are doing a great job! Thanks! [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 10:45 AM

This one puzzled me – I guess it’s a good tool if people are pestering you about when their articles will be posted, but that has never concerned me. I know they’ll get there in good time – and that time is usually very short! I think we should concentrate on writing and not worry so much about how soon our articles will be out in the world. Take that “worry” time and write another article. [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 10:46 AM

Marte, Yep, I agree with ya… We get many emails a day asking for a status update so we’re trying to divert member support questions so we can spend more time reviewing & approving articles and less time telling hundreds of members that we’ll get to their articles soon. Mitchell, It took our developers a month to bring this feature from concept to implementation… largely due to having to continually change our software to accommodate the reporting. I’m pretty certain we won’t be able to add a timer count down till article approval due to the huge range in time that varies depending on lots of variables that aren’t always in our control (labor, incoming volume, systems working or connectivity issues, etc). Max, Yeah, we’re still working on plans to address that. Richard, We intend for EzineArticles to always be FREE; but we also do have a Premium membership option (for priority article review speed) that we’ve worked all Summer on that will be introduced soon. What’s delaying this Premium feature? Time and that we’re at a backlog that we didn’t expect to be in…plus hiring many more editors this month to begin training. We can’t rest or else someone will eat our lunch… and we’re hungry! Thanks! Know that EzineArticles is a team effort behind the scenes… and many of today’s new features are thanks to our growing developer team. [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 11:02 AM

It is a novel idea and an innovative feature to know the actual stage and progress of your article before the editorial board. But this feature is more helpful to the platinum authors who have the privilege of submitting unlimited number of articles in the site and who will be actually somewhat very anxious to get them publish and market them as soon as possible. As far as basic and basic plus level authors are concerned, they will have very little utility with this feature. Suppose the site becomes a paying site for articles submitted, all the authors will be benefited by this feature, because all of them will be anxious to know the progress of their articles. In any event it is an innovative feature introduced by the mother of articles directories.Congrats. [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 11:35 AM

Ramalingam, Let me re-iterate: For the foreseeable future, EzineArticles WILL continue to have a FREE membership option. There are no plans for any kind of fee-based only membership… but there are many plans for Premium features for priority review and other services that we’re in development on. We can’t rest or else someone will eat our lunch… and we’re hungry! (Christopher M. Knight) I love that statement. It’s so true for all of us who are marketing our businesses. I too never worry about when my articles will be published. I am still a newbie and know I have to wait my turn. I always appreciate the new features on EzineArticles . I like how easy EzineArticles makes it for the authors to want to come here and publish their work. [Reply] Comment provided August 7, 2008 at 12:11 PM

I must commend you for this very thoughtful, innovtive and timely device. Mostly my articles have been quickly reviewed but recently there has been some extreme slowness in the process that leads one to wonder if not worry that something has gone wrong or that the article has been lost sight of, especially so when it involves modified articles which ordinarily one would expect would not take more than 15 minutes to review. Arthur, Everything is first in, first reviewed…with priority to Premium beta-testing members… Then Platinum, Basic/Basic Plus members. It doesn’t take us 15 minutes per article, but we are processing thousands of transactions per day. If we don’t have another growth spurt, we’ll be back to normal review times in late September. This is fantastic. I thought Ezine was lagging behind a bit compared to what i have seen on other article sites but the new updates coming through show that you really are a step above the others every time. The more detailed updates, statistics and feedback we as writers can get will only help to improve our focus and work with ezine better as well! [Reply] Comment provided August 15, 2008 at 7:30 AM

I’m not sure why, but I’m continually amazed at the features you add.
I did notice this feature a few days ago and just smiled.
Thanks Chris!!
