It’s pretty sad that verbal porn seems to be so popular. I have read some of them and they are VERY poor and since they offer nothing I give them a 1 star rating.

Your stats are good. However, because of the massive numbers of articles (some of which are nothing more than thinly disguised rambling adverts) the competition is getting greater to sort out the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

Just look at the transient time that articles appear in the “recent articles” list. They are on and off in a flash.

I’ve noticed that one of my articles had more click this week, and it’s funny but I added something similar to the examples you gave above.

Personally I think keywords are a huge issue, keywords and quality of content of course. Case in point, I found a great keyword about the LETTER Q of all things! So I wrote a poem about it. That poem has been read 2,555 times, only 15 click outs though.

I write less but try to deliver something that will be read. I also know, just like you mentioned in your WONDERFUL article that I just read, that yup, sex sells. One of my poems about sex has been read 14,458 times and had 558 click outs. I guess they want to see who would come up with that stuff. It is all pretty tame though and may be somewhat disappointing to hardcore people looking for a thrill. I don’t deliver thrills though, just innuendoes.

Anyway, I agree with what you said. There are a lot of variables. But 63% CTR is pretty phenomenal - better than 1 click from every 2 readers.

I’d like to know if anybody has beaten that rate.

There is also a difference in the audience. Many times articles that are not successful at EArticles are very successful in other sites.
If we pay attention to all aspects, of course we can have better results.

Sometimes I write articles that I know will not be read by too many people, because I have to educate them.
However, the third article I write about the same matter usually attracts many readers, after my preparation with 2 educative articles that will help people evaluate the third one.

The readers may not be the same but this is how things work in practice, because the third article will concentrate the most important aspects, already explained in the previous ones.

I have CTR’s from 29 to 63% and the staff at Ezine Articles can easily verify it, so it’s not BS.

My article - though somewhat humorous in parts - tells everybody at EA how I have done this - that’s why I wrote it.
