Audrey, We aim to approve 1,000+ per day, but lately we’ve been approving 700-800 per day M-F, and best effort only on the weekends. We’ve been slowing down a bit because I’m demanding a higher level of quality in our approvals and will soon be having every article reviewed by two humans instead of just one. To give you a perspective, right now I think we may be erroring about 1 in every 100 articles and I want to see that raised to 1 in every 100,000 articles… but that’s a very expensive proposition that we’re undertaking because it’ll double our costs to approve/review articles… something I had hoped we wouldn’t have to do, but now I’m seeing it as a ‘no choice’ option to survive long-term. “erroring”? Are you talking about accepting non original content? Chris, you have an incredible team. Wally is the only one who posts on your blog and on the message boards, but I know you have a larger team than just Wally ;) They do an incredible job. Even when I submit articles on weekends, they are always approved quickly. Lance, I continue to scan your new articles and read what I can. Your opinions and mine are quite similiar on some issues. I’m not quite writing the one article per day I had hoped I’d be writing but I’m close. I’m sitting on 9 articles right now that I’ll upload mid week after I reread them for typos. Audrey, well I certainly hope you like my articles, but no sense in trying to read them all. I think I am up 500 on the month already and trying to hit 10,000 by the 15th of October; at 9822 today and working quite hard to come up with titles and topics at this rate of creation. Audrey, When I say “erroring” I mean quality control issues, such as accepting content we shouldn’t have accepted, not making a link active for a newbie member who failed to figure out how to do it, accidentally accepting an article with an affiliate link or any number of many dozens of errors that our editors are trained to identify…. yet sometimes miss. Chris,
She asked some great questions. It’s interesting how the various folks who itnerview you each ask a different set of questions.
The interview did leave me with one question….how many articles do you/your team approve on a daily or weekly basis?
Audrey :)
