Carla Vaughan - Author SpotlightRate This Post:
In the Author Spotlight this week is author and HR and Career Planning guru, Carla Vaughan. In reviewing her articles, the one thing that I immediately spotted was her segmentation on really the same topic, but for specific jobs or industries. For example, here is a quick list of the articles I am referring to: Marketing Managers Need Cover Letters, Too? This is an interesting twist on a subject Chris brought up awhile back in his blog post about writing articles for specific geographical locations. Here though, Carla has adapted that to her niche and created articles for specific job seekers. This is a great idea and something I think most people could implement to target different groups with their writing. Lastly, I recommend this article Carla has about dealing with writer’s block - something we all have faced on occasion.

When you have a passion to share something with others - something about which you are knowledgable and enjoy - writing is pleasurable. I enjoy providing these articles and I hope to contribute many more in the weeks, months and years to come. A tip of the hat to Chris Knight for making this possible. Win-win at it’s best. ~Carla Comment provided October 31, 2006 at 11:21 am

Admit it You Love It! So, that is your secret Carla; YOU LOVE IT and IT SHOWS too! Excellent, I knew that, I can tell by your great articles. Keep up the great work. You know after reading many of your articles I realized why some of our Cover Letters for proposals worked great and others did not. I use to think it was luck. Now I know how important the right cover letter is and how to write it. Great Stuff. Comment provided October 31, 2006 at 8:51 pm

You know I found some information here; “Keep your cover letter and resume together in Word. Avoid the possibility of losing your impressive letter, optimize your time, and maybe even impress your potential employer at the same time. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=5723838 ” What I thought was interesting is that some of what is written here, I already knew! Why? Well, because I read it in one of Carla’s articles and it made me feel smart. Microsoft was confirming what Carla already told me in here very informative articles. HA!
