Nanci writes me, “Hi Chris! If I use Ezine by writing articles (I’ve already written 3) is it necessary for me to buy software that automatically submits my articles to hundreds of other sites that allow free article writing or am I better off just sticking with you? Thanks so much!”

I can only offer a biased answer so, YES, you should just stick with us for the highest yield on your time and the greatest traffic return for your article submission time investment.

Do you really know where your content is going or how they will use it when you “blast” it to the wind?

Nanci,

Here’s an article I wrote that offers my opinion on this topic http://ezinearticles.com/?Strategies-For-Article-Marketing&id=236805

Perhaps this question should be further studied. Maybe a second opinion is worth? You know empirical proof, scientific study and research? I have wondered this myself. Are there people who have actually done both and with sets of articles here, and sets of articles elsewhere? What do they say? We should do a study and post the Research Results for Everyone to see right here. An honest and non-biased study. It would be an interesting experiment.

I’ve used EzineArticles and other sites and I like this site the best because it’s easy to use and has a transparent process. What I think it has over other sites is the length of time your stuff stays out there. I use Google Alerts to tell me when my articles have been reprinted. Every so often I find that an old article has been picked up. And all the articles regularly appear in search engine results. Finally, the author bio page is a great place to send people who want to know more about your writing. It looks professional and everyone who sees it is impressed. Although I still use other sites occasionally, EzineArticles is always my first choice. It’s also the one I recommend to anyone who wants to get into article marketing.

Lance, I bought two different article submission software programs. I didn’t use either because they don’t allow me to format articles the way EzineArticles does. Plus, both required hours of programming–uploading the articles and the article sites.

I then paid for article distribution services. My articles were abused by thousands of websites–no live links and even some without my bio or byline.

Next, I hired an assistant to post articles for me to select directories. This worked best except she didn’t format the links in the bio right. I now have an assistant who posts a few articles on select sites. He monitors the viewings to make sure the sites are worthwhile.

On a side note, I found that many directories posted all of my articles listed on EzineArticles, without credit to EzineArticles. I know this because the articles posted here have different titles, intros, and bios than the ones submitted through services.

All in all, there are a handful of good article directories, but my articles get ten times the views on EzineArticles.

I never formally documented my experiences, mainly because I was doing it for my own knowledge and never intended to share it, but, yes, I’ve spent the last 2 1/2 years testing the various EA-like sites. EzineArticles has been, by far, the best to me and I recently returned to EzineArticles after a, what, Chris? 6-month absence? I’d have to check to be sure. I’m in the process right now of actually pulling down all other articles and, in the future, will be publishing exclusively (’cept for my own sites, of course) through EzineArticles.
