For fun, we’re considering ordering a few cases of something to give away with a promotion we’re planning for this fall… and we need your help with deciding if we should give away hats or shirts? Which would be more valued?

Hats (baseball cap) or T-shirt (beefy T or dri-fit)

We’re not sure of the color scheme or what will be on it; but assume we’ll ask you to help us decide when the time comes.

Most likely it’ll be something like “Syndicate This!” or “I’m An EzineArticles Expert Author” or “EzineArticles Zen Warrior” or “Insert some short quip here”.

Or should we scrap the whole T-shirt or Hat idea and just roll out another pallet of those I Love EzineArticlescoffee mugs?

Wow, very cool, T-shirts are nice, some folks like caps too. I think for those authors who get spot-lighted for their excellent work deserve one of each. It seems that those who are the spot lighted authors have great articles. Maybe increase the Spotlighted authors to One per Week and let them earn their Free T-Shirt. Perhaps allow the rest like me who are not your top quality authors to buy their own?

Hi Chris

If you use a company like Cafe Press you can have the full range and people can just order what they want and the company will deal with the order processing.

http://www.cafepress.com/

You can display a range of promotional produce and I think you are even paid a commission on all order placed.

You can design all your own produce and have your own shop if you want.

Just a few ideas, It is a shame I am not an affiliate!

I made pottery for 20 years, sold to most National Parks;Disney World; mom and pop stores. I custom designed and personalized mugs and steins for each vendor. The main thing I learned in that market is that cute and funny sells. I did a whole line of face mugs as well adding labels that said things like “Life Without Chocolate” with a monster face and “Hole in Juan” a golfer with a golf ball in his mouth and his eyes cockeyed. Personally I think a company is more memorable and a t-shirt or coffee mug used more often if it shows a sense of humor. A coffee mug can cheer up the morning while reminding the person of your company in a happy way. A T-shirt gets more attention if it has a sense of humor.

That is my take on it anyway.

Caps for sure, unless you do a polo shirt which would be very classy, and I’d opt for one of them.

I agree that if you get the t-shirts, get them in small sizes as well as large. A lot of companies give away t-shirts, but it seems that few order them in anything other than XL. I’ve gotten to the point where I won’t accept one if it’s not in my size, because I don’t like to wear an oversized t.

Hi Chris,

I collect both caps and mugs. But then since I live in Sydney, I’d spend less on H&P if I order the cap. *Sigh* But really, I’m a big coffee drinker, and mug would be terrific. Ok, 50-50, for cap and mug.

Decisions, decisions,
Tel
