Last year I made the decision that wherever I was in any of the 50 United States, I wanted to have broadband Internet access with me. Thanks to my little Sony’s TX670 ultra-lite notebook with built-in Cingular broadband Internet access, I’ve been able to do almost everything I can in the office, on the road or whenever I’m traveling.

Know what I use for my home page on that notebook? Local.Google.com! Millions of people like you and I are using local search to help us find the things we need and this presents a massive traffic attraction opportunity: Article Writing For Localized Search!

Can you see the possibilities yet? WOW!…eh?

Have you started writing articles with geographical locations in your article titles yet?

Consider writing dozens to hundreds of articles that draw out where your niche expertise intersects with various customs and physical locations in every major city, state or province, country, island, and continent!

You will have a lead on the market like you’ve never seen before.

Google isn’t the only search engine player to master the LOCAL SEARCH opportunity. Local.Yahoo.com & Local.MSN.com are in the game to win over the trust of their users who are seeking localized content.

Do you agree, disagree or can you see the same opportunity I’m seeing?

Excellent article Chris. Yet another great idea.

I was trying to think of how to apply local search to what I offer (piano lessons online.) The only thing I can think of at this moment is to show the benefits of online lessons over local lessons.

Would this work?

Ed, You could write about “piano mover” or “piano moving” and then pitch your online piano lessons.

You could also write about various name brands of piano’s (for example, when I researched PIANO CANADA, I found that people were searching for Yamaha Piano’s…) as they relate to geographic preferences.

Do different piano teachers in different states teach piano lessons differently? Compare and contrast the local norms compared to national or online instruction…

So many ways to leverage local search for almost any market niche.

Ok. I just tried Google’s local search and the results it came up with look like white or yellow page ads.

I’m not seeing web results. How will articles show up on these results pages if Google is not indexing them for a local search?

Have patience… You are only seeing the GROUND FLOOR of the local search opportunity.

Right now, I recommend you don’t worry about having your article found in the local.searchengine.com name, and focus on getting the localized articles written and syndicated.

Using my previous example of “Yoga” and “Atlanta”, check out the keyword research results for yoga, atlanta:

yoga atlanta,1554
atlanta hot yoga,171
bikram yoga atlanta,116
yoga class in atlanta,89
yoga studio atlanta,88
yoga class atlanta,68
yoga in atlanta,58
atlanta nude yoga,38
prenatal yoga atlanta,34
yoga studio in atlanta,30

There is at least 5 articles in this example for a person to write about that would attract the local demand for articles on this specific topic.

Wow Chris!

I never used local.google before. Guess what? I put sell home in (not even in quotes) and MY website is number 1 for my home town of about 50,000 people! Too bad I don’t sell homes! –Well, maybe one or two a year. I should have made a website for “buy homes.”

I better get back to writing articles for local google. Thank you.

Dear Chris,

I just wished to say hello to you; to thank you for the daily “updates” and to greet you for the great job you are doing!

I am eager to test the new products and when I read about Local.google.com, I was really intrigued.

I don’t undervalue the new technologies at all - you could ever learn more about the new trends on market - so competitive niche nowadays.

It’s great and useful for me if I can integrate the most of them in my business.

Thanks for the great support.
Keep on the same path!

Elitsa
