Most Pop SearchesRate This Post: If you’ve been following this blog, you may know that we’ve been working on a way to drill into the keyword phrase search data created by the daily 1000+ searches on our site. So far, we’ve released the most popular searches by sub-category. Examples: Yoga, Fitness Equipment, Lung Cancer, and so forth… This week, we made another round of changes that will occur in the next indexing of our site scheduled for 1am CST on Sunday morning. Until then, I apologize for how some of the search results appear. Know they will be massively cleaned up by Sunday. The indexing process is very intense and drags the server down more than our normal routine of daily updates to the site before the sun rises. So far, I’m excited about the increasing relevancy of the most popular search results that you can find by looking at the top of each category. Once this next update is done, I’d be open to further comments about how we should improve it next.
Yes, you can EDIT itRate This Post: Dear EzineArticles Authors, Yes, you can EDIT your own articles at any time until we no longer allow this functionality. I have no idea how long we’ll allow you to edit your own articles at any time, but until we no longer offer this functionality as part of the free basic, basic plus or platinum membership, PLEASE: 1) Edit your article instead of removing it and replacing with another one. 2) Know that after you edit an article, it’s removed from the directory until we re-review it to ensure your changes are compliant with our posted editorial guidelines.
Farris Green - Author SpotlightRate This Post: Here at EzineArticles.com, we don’t get too many teens or High School level authors, but I came across Farris’s extended bio today and thought she would make a perfect example for an article author/marketer ahead of her time for others to learn from. You won’t find a decade of business experience from her articles, but what you will find are short, sweet, punchy articles with a personality that reflects this new author’s style along with a resource box and a URL to click on. She ‘gets it’ and is a great example for how to leverage article marketing to get published and begin building credibility and exposure, even at a young age! Way to go Farris!
Motivating Article AuthorsRate This Post: Monday Article Marketing Question of the Day: Looking forward to your comments, suggestions or advice. :-)
Article Announcement ListsRate This Post: Last night I lead my 3rd of 3 Teleclinics as part of my Article Marketing mentoring group and one of the things I was covering was a brief overview of how Jason Potash’s ArticleAnnouncer works. One of the things his software helps automate is the sending of articles to email announcement lists like Kevin Bidwell’s ArticleAnnounce lists and so forth. I asked my teleclass students (about 30 of them) if anyone has ever had any kind of success from sending their article to an email announcement list? …then the line went silent and I could hear crickets. My question to you: Have you ever had any success with sending your articles to public article announcement email lists?
Most Relevant SERPsRate This Post: Every day, 1000-1200 unique searches are done on our site. Ok, so we began this innocent little project to collect, sort, organize and analyze the 1000-1200 unique search keywords and key phrases every day — so that we could deliver to our readers related/relevant searches that might add value to their experience. Our first 4-5 attempts at this failed and we’re on the 2nd search engine type for this project. Now that it appears we have a bead going (welding reference), we’re building the inventory of most popular search terms.
Article Swap = NoRate This Post: Many authors who are part of the “recycled article vomit” club have asked us if we will allow them to take more than 25 articles if they give us more than 25 articles. It’s my belief that anyone who has to give more to get more articles will be more likely to send in article vomit than our ideal author profile (info author who is here to submit articles on personal expertise to build traffic and backlinks to their website and could care less about feeding from our directory). Our on-going objective is to keep article vomit out and quality original articles that add real value for our readers, in. :)
Recently Submitted?Rate This Post: Dear Authors or Publishers, Curious: Is the “Most Recently Added Articles” link of any value? I’m considering removing it from our left navigation as I’m not sure it’s adding any real value considering how large the site has come. If anything, my gut instinct is to remove it. If we were to replace it, I’d put the most recently added articles for each sub-category that a user is viewing so they could find more relevant articles…but that’s a day job of work. Your thoughts?
