I’m hoping this blog post will reach affiliates of Stone Evan’s PIPS marketing product:

If you read our editorial guidelines, you’ll find that we don’t accept articles with affiliate links.

We’re very close to implementing a filter on all new accounts that list pips.html anywhere in their member profile or resource box.

In one respect, I want to give Stone an ‘attaboy’ for being so darn popular that we get his affiliates trying to create accounts with us enough for it to be a trend. Seems 80% of his clients are from outside of the USA.

Perhaps you could help us to spread the word that we only accept original articles without any affiliate links in them.

Thanks in advance!

Chris,

Just a question, but how is a link like www.chrisknight.com/pips.html (example only :)) an “affiliate” link? I’m only asking, because I didn’t consider that as one until I read your post.

Ha ha, very funny Jeremy. ;-)

100% of every domain that was sent into our system with a pips.html ending was clearly a Plug in Profit affiliate link.

I’m open to the possibility that a legitimate person could be tossed if they use pips.html in their URL… but for the price of saving a couple hours a month of not dealing with PIPS authors plugging their affiliate links, I can live with it.

You know, the real issue here is that the greater majority of the PIPS aff link pushers send in articles that are not original works. We don’t have time to review rehashed & recycled articles and thus our no aff links policy keeps the greater majority of it out of our site.

Only about 10-15% of the articles that come in to us that plug any affiliate links are really good quality original articles. It’s a shame we have to toss them in order to keep out the 85% that send in rehashed garbage.
